| Q. |
What is Window Tinting? |
| A. |
It is a polyester coating which is made up of several layers including the film body, dye, adhesive and metallization. Sun-Gard Professional Tinting is manufactured to last for many years, depending on exposure to the sun, cleaning products and pollutants such as air pollution and cigarette smoke. We offer light (50%), medium (35%), dark (20%) and limo tint (5%) gray-smoke tint. It is adhesively applied to the interior of the window. The backglass defroster is not affected by the tint.
If your vehicle tinting includes a compound curved back glass (most all vehicles), the film will be heat shrunk to exactly fit the glass in one solid piece of film. This technique is a very difficult process but it achieves a custom factory look. Many tinters will apply film in strips or cut on the defroster lines which is unsightly and could damage the elements. The quality of the tint affects its clarity, long term appearance, and adhesiveness. We use only premium film. |

| Q. |
What is Legal in Iowa? |
| A. |
Iowa Law limits the light transmission to 70% on front roll-up glass. Tint is not made that light, so in effect, it is against Iowa Law to tint the front rollups. Only a band is allowed on the windshield. No limits on the other glass of your vehicle. |

After Your Vehicle is Tinted |
| A. |
Window tinting is intended to look through, not at. Minor imperfections are considered normal. There is a period of about two weeks when your tinting is ‘curing'; that is, the moisture behind the film is drying. During this time, you may notice a ‘blotchy' appearance or defroster lines may 'shine' at night from headlights. However if you notice an imperfection or ‘bubble', do not attempt to fix it yourself, call us immediately, so that we can repair or replace the film. |

Caring For Your Tinting |
| A. |
During the cold winter months, if possible, park vehicle inside a heated area for 2 days. Do not wash the inside of windows for one week, then be sure to use a soft, terry cloth towel and a non-ammonia or alcohol based glass cleaner. Do not allow objects to strike against the interior of the window surface. The tinting film is scratch resistant, but it is not indestructible. |
